Drake has finally announced the release date of his sixth album “Certified Lover Boy.” The album faced several delays in the past. But the rap music artist will finally release the album on September 3. A cryptic video clip was aired on ESPN a few days back. The clip teased the release date of the album. But SportsCenter put up a tweet saying that it was a technical glitch.

More About The Album

Drake posted an image on his Instagram handle, which is the album cover. The image contains multiple pregnant-mother emojis with different skin tones and shirt colors. The caption of the photo gave away the name and release date of the album. In May 2020, Drake announced that he was working on a new album. The album was all set to be released in the summer of 2020. But it did not happen. Instead, he released a single titled “Laugh Now Cry Later.”

On October 24, Drake took to his social media to announce a new release date for “Certified Lover Boy.” It was supposed to be released on January 1, 2021. But the date was postponed once again as the artist was recovering from knee surgery. In March, the hip hop artist released a sequel to the 2018 EP. His track “What’s Next” occupied the first position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The other two songs from the EP are also featured on the chart. The three songs took the top 3 spots on the chart.

Ending Note

Drake has been engaged in two collaborations in the past summer. The artist was seen in “Wasting Time” by Brent Faiyaz. He was also a part of “Over the Top” by Canadian rapper Smiley. Both the collaborations happened in July. “Certified Lover Boy” will be the sixth album of the artist. His previous album “Scorpion” was released in 2018. The album contained a total of seven tracks.

“Scorpion” secured the first rank on the Billboard 200. All the seven tracks in the album were among the top 20 on the Hot 100 list. “God’s Plan,” “In my Feelings,” and “Nice for What” were featured at the top of the list. The album’s massive success made it Drake’s second album to feature on the Billboard Top 200. The new album of Drake is likely to receive the same love from fans and become another milestone in his career.
